Spend Friday Eve with Cristal Ryder

Cristal Ryder is a new to me author, but after reading these excerpts, I will definitely be adding these to the TBB Mountain Range!

A threesome isn't only a man's fantasy....

Ever been tempted to fulfill your fantasy and experience something taboo? Brian and Kelly have…and they do just that when they escape to a mountain resort to de-stress and enjoy their favorite pastime – sex. There, they meet mysterious Tauni.

One hot man and two sexy women heat up the mountain air that leaves no fantasy required.

Content warning; Explicit sex/language, f/m/f and f/f sex scenes

“What are you laughing about, princess?” I hugged his arm closer to my chest and rested my cheek on his shoulder.

“You.”

“Me? Why?”

“Oh, I don’t know. Just some things I was thinking about.”

“Like what?”

“Well, how we spent the afternoon and what we talked about doing…with Tauni”

“Oh, I see--”

“No, wait. I laughed because I know you will have fun too, not just me.”

He pulled me closer to him and hugged me tight. “Of course we will both enjoy it.”

Our bulky winter coats kept us insulated against the cold as we trudged up the mountain path to the scenic outlook.

The deck, cleared of snow, welcomed guests with rustic chairs and chaise lounges placed around a stone fire pit which burned with a roaring fire. The bartender decked out in earmuffs and a red scarf mixed up a special concoction for the sunset celebration.

The view was outstanding. Two distant mountains in the west formed a perfect V and the sun set between them. We had only been to the sunrise celebration, where champagne and orange juice flowed, once. Usually in the morning we were otherwise occupied.

We cuddled together to keep warm and watched the sunset in hushed silence. We were not disappointed as purple and pink streaks slanted across the sky, casting a pinky-golden glow on the snow. The stunning view took our breaths away. The glory of nature awed everyone into silence as the sun set behind the mountains.

Many guests hiked up the path through the trees to the lookout as a nightly ritual and then cozied up around the deck. The twinkle lights switched roles with the sun as they became brighter while the sky darkened. A special frosty drink the resort created was offered to the guests and we all huddled around the fire to soak up the warmth it cast.

Private conversations could be heard in low murmurs, everyone wrapped up in their own little worlds. The darkness settled before long, transforming the deck into a magical world of sparkle and shooting flames. I was enchanted and felt at peace.

“Are you getting hungry?”

I thought about it for a moment. “Getting there. Let’s stay here for a bit. This is so nice.” I finished my drink and took a deep breath. The mountain air tinged with the smoke was a wonderful aroma. Fresh, spicy and cold. I wanted another one of those great frosty drinks and stood up.

Taking Brian’s glass from his mittened hands, I raised my eyebrows. “Another one?”

“Sure.” He settled back on the lounge, arms behind his head and looked up at the stars. I glanced up at the sky. The dark indigo perfectly set off the stars starting to twinkle across the sky.

“Be right back.” There were a few people at the bar and I wandered over to the railing. I looked over and could almost imagine myself soaring like a bird. The slope fell away below me and a thrill ran through my stomach like a roller-coaster ride down the hill. I hadn’t realized it was so high or steep.

I stepped back and bumped into someone. “Oh, I’m sorry.” Tauni turned to face me and a brilliant smile lit her face.

“Kelly! What a delightful surprise.” Before I could say a thing she wrapped me in a big hug. The scent of her perfume floated around us and I inhaled it, memories of last night flashing through my mind. I hugged her back. Suddenly I felt shy and at a loss for words.

Cristal will be giving away a copy of her Hot Fusion book to one visitor.

Mid-week Heat from Cari Quinn

Wednesday is when I need a heat boost, and Cari Quinn does it nicely!

Cari Quinn wrote her first story - a bible parable - in 2nd grade, much to the delight of the nuns at her Catholic school. Once she saw the warm reception that first tale garnered, she was hooked. She attempted her first romance in junior high, long before she'd ever read one. Writing what she knew always took a backseat to what she wanted to know, and that still holds true today. Cari's genres of choice include contemporary, romantic comedy, romantic suspense, urban fantasy and paranormal. Recently she discovered erotic romance. Oh, how far she's come.Blog - http://www.cariquinn.com/bio.php

Network analyst by day, erotic romance writer by night Vincent Buonfiglio is dealing with a work-in-progress that has gone colder than winter in his hometown of Ridgley, North Dakota. So what does a man who needs to write hot do to get cranking?

Search out a woman for a night of no-strings sex, of course.

But his choice of partner, Katherine "Kiki" Wyatt, manager of the Quikky Snak Gas & Lube, isn't biting. Flirting over his nightly chili dog is one thing. But a date? Sex? Not happening. Vincent reminds Kiki way too much of her cheating ex-fiancĂ©, and she's learned her lesson—dangerously sexy geeks with lots to offer outside the bedroom are off-limits. Until they're held up at the gas station, and Vincent gets shot protecting her. Then all bets are off.

With a painful shoulder injury and four weeks to get his book written, he turns to Kiki. She agrees to help him with his novel, but she doesn't expect to end up naked in the reformed womanizer's arms—or that helping Vincent write the spiciest book of the year will allow her to pen her own happy ending.

Cari will be giving away two ebooks to 2 separate winners, plus a $5.00 AMZ/B&N gift card to a 3rd (winner's choice.)

Mary Hughes on Vampires, Sausages and (shudder) Pistachio Fluff

http://www.authorsangels.com/2012/07/biting-oz-blog-tour.html"> src="http://i1220.photobucket.com/albums/dd449/diamondmomma11/200x300bitingoz2.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket">

Actually, I asked Mary to tells us about her version of vampires and how the Meiers Corners vampires are different. As a longtime fan of all things Meiers Corners, I was delighted with her post.

Thank you, Nancy, for having me here today!

What makes your vampires different from the others out there?

Keeping it real.

I can’t claim to have read every vampire book or seen every movie or show. But there are three ways I know of to “make” a fictional vampire—physically (like the plague in I Am Legend), magically (like the witches’ spells in The Vampire Diaries), or morally (divinely cursed like Dracula). Mine are the physical variety. The underlying mechanism has yet to be revealed, but there’s one noticeable aspect that sets my v-guys apart.

My vampires don’t drink blood for their stomachs—they drink it for their veins.

Like humans who can’t make their own blood, my vampires must have regular transfusions (taking their transfusions by mouth).

I like this a lot (especially for romance) because it’s hard to have a real relationship with someone who looks at you as a giant barbequed chicken. My humans are donors, not dinners. Even better, vampires only have to drink about three times a month (just often enough to replace dying red cells).

Now, I do have to say that my vampires have many similarities to those out there. They’re strong, fast, rich, highly sexual and fall in love hard with one person. There’s a group of savvy warriors united by the mysterious Ancient One to protect humans.

But real physiology grounds my vampires, no matter how whimsical the plots get. The blood they drink goes directly into their veins instead of their stomachs, which is frankly more authentic to me because the stomach digests blood. Mini-rant here—feel free to skip to the next paragraph :). That’s one reason I have a problem with turning rituals where the human drinks blood. How effective can blood be, churned up with gastric acid? Assuming it stays down, that is. In humans, blood is an emetic—drink enough and you, um, you know. Email me if you don’t :).

Of course, because my vampires don’t use blood for food, they have to get their energy another way. It’s not revealed yet, but there are indicators they get it from being buried in the soil (perhaps like plants do) honoring the “native soil” needed by Dracula, and the vampires-sleeping-in-graves legend.

The physical differences also have a real social impact. Those who successfully make the change keep their human intellect and morals: silly, smart, wise; good or bad. So on one hand we have the Iowa Alliance living in harmony with humans, and on the other we have the Chicago Coterie trying to take over the world. Some vampires don’t make the change successfully. They lose what makes them human, becoming pure vampire hunger uncontrolled by their rotting human brain. There’s a nice tension between the good guys protecting humans, the bad guys using them as minions, and the rogues mindlessly hunting them.

Lastly, some vampire characters are developed ignoring popular lore. Lore may not be real, but popular means a lot of people understand vampires in terms of the legends. I try to honor all legends that are physically based. My vampires are hurt by silver. They get a buzz from running water. Sunlight fries them. They do have reflections, but no reflection is part of the divinely-cursed vampire mythos (no soul). After being undead long enough, they can turn their bodies into mist; longer yet and they can shapeshift. These all have real reasons tied consistently into the physical nature of my vampires. Which will get revealed eventually :)

Biting Oz Blurb

Real vampires do musicals.
Biting Love, Book 5
Gunter Marie “Junior” Stieg is stuck selling sausage for her folks in small-town Meiers Corners. Until one day she’s offered a way out—the chance to play pit orchestra for a musical headed for Broadway: Oz, Wonderful Oz.
But someone is threatening the show’s young star. To save the production, Junior must join forces with the star’s dark, secretive bodyguard, whose sapphire eyes and lyrical Welsh accent thrill her. And whose hard, muscular body sets fire to her passions.
Fierce as a warrior, enigmatic as a druid, Glynn Rhys-Jenkins has searched eight hundred years for a home. Junior’s get-out-of-Dodge attitude burns him, but everything else about her inflames him, from her petite body and sharp mind to what she can do with her hip-length braid.
Then a sensuous, insidious evil threatens not only the show, but the very foundations of Meiers Corners. To fight it, Junior and Glynn must face the truth about themselves—and the true meaning of love and home.
Warning: Cue the music, click your heels together, make a wish and get ready for one steamy vampire romance. Contains biting, multiple climaxes, embarrassing innuendos, ka-click/ka-ching violence, sausage wars and—
shudder—pistachio fluff.

Having enjoyed every visit to Meiers Corners, I look forward to meeting more of the quirky residents and the hunky, hot vampires who love them. this series bring a whole new meaning to hot stuff!!!

Powertools, Book 5

Five sexy men with a penchant for love and lust in any variation have formed a crew. They work hard and play harder—together. Over the past year, as each member discovered his soul mate—or two—they expanded the reach of their circle, lighting up their nights along with their souls. Monogamous relationships and the desire to start families threaten to put their libertine revelry on the back burner. Will the passion that bonded them fade away? How will the new crew wives cope with the complex relationship the men will always cherish and crave?

Determined to prove they stand by their men, the women decide it’s time to flex some muscle and give the crew a dose of girl power. But will they have the guts to go through with their plans?

But soon after Morgan’s scorching hot night with her husband’s four best friends, an accident threatens the life of one of those men. The challenges that lie ahead will test the crew’s powerful bond to the limit—and their long-standing promise to take care of each other through good, bad, and sexy times. Whatever it takes…

Leah Braemel Kicks off Week Two of Sweet, Sexy, Scorching

Today kicks off week two of the Sweet, Sexy, Scorching Blog Hop, and bringing in the heat is the fantastic Leah Braemel. Sosit back, relax and prepare to be...scorched.

Texas Tangle Excerpt:

Chapter One
No, no, no!” With steam billowing from the hood of her truck, Nikki maneuvered blindly easing the vehicle to the side of the road, making sure the horse trailer she was towing wasn’t blocking traffic. “You can’t die here. We’re so close to home.”

With a sigh, she killed the engine, climbed from the cab and kicked the front tire. “You couldn’t have held on for another three miles, could you? No-o-o, you had to blow out the rad here, you piece of shit.”

She waited in the inky black night for ten minutes before a vehicle crested the hill, its high beams blinding her until the driver dimmed the lights. She moved to the side as the Jeep zipped past, not even slowing to see if she needed help. A half-dozen cars zoomed by over the next half hour without a single one slowing.

She was starting to consider unloading her newest horse and riding him home when a familiar white pick-up slowed then parked in front of her truck.
First a long, booted leg, then the rest of the driver’s body unfolded as he clambered down. Dillon Barnett jammed a dusty black cowboy hat on his head before he ambled over. “Hey, Nik. Need some help?”

“Yeah, my truck’s overheated.” Trying to ignore the shivery feeling that had her nipples hardening every time she set eyes on her neighbor, Nikki reached for the hood release.
Dillon caught her wrist and stopped her. “Whoa, don’t touch that yet. Let it cool down a while longer, or I’ll be hauling you off to the burn unit.”

Before she could stop herself, she leaned in and filled her lungs with his scent, detecting only a hint of the aftershave he’d used that morning behind a heaping of good honest sweat. Mostly he smelled of machine oil, sawdust and…mesquite? She scrunched up her nose and took another sniff. “You been at a barbecue?”

For a truly great mĂ©nage read, TEXAS TANGLE is the book for you. I couldn’t get enough of it and had to read it twice, okay – three times! ~Talia Ricci, Joyfully Reviewed

Dillon chuckled, a dark delicious sound that reminded her of humid summer evenings eating barbecued ribs and drinking cool beer. Of star-filled nights that promised long sessions of hot, sweaty sex.

Where had that come from? Maybe because she hadn’t been with a guy and had hot, sweaty sex in a couple of years?
“We’ve been cuttin’ down some mesquites out back of the old Pritchert place. New owners are plannin’ on putting in a pool and hired me to do the landscaping around it. I figured I might as well get started in there with my machinery.”

When he released her, she took a step back, stopping her sigh before it could escape. Stop with the fantasies, Nik. If Dillon was interested in you, he’d have made some move after Wade moved out. Oh, he was always over checking on her, helping her fix the fences the horses or weather knocked down, but not once had he given her any indication he was interested in her.
No, Dillon just did those things because he’d been raised to be a good neighbor, willing to help the struggling divorcee with the measly forty acres of scrub behind his spread of two hundred and fifty. Still, a girl could fantasize. Oh. My. The fantasies she’d been having about him lately.

But had she imagined the way he’d held her after pulling her against him? Or the way his hand stroked the small of her back? That couldn’t have been accidental. Could it?

Leah will be giving away a book from her back list, winner’s choice.

Scandalous

She always got anything she wanted…

Playing with Fire 2, Book 1

She got over it, or she thought she had—until her brother’s wedding brings Eric back into her life, as flirty and fun as ever. It never mattered to her that he’s gay. Attraction is attraction.

One illicit kiss, and their reconnection blows her mind and rekindles girlish hopes. Then he sets her away from him and runs like hell.

Eric can’t believe that a woman’s touch arouses him. Not just any woman, but sweet Alexa, and he can’t help but want more. Desperate to come clean, he confesses all to his steady boyfriend, Brandon, expecting anger. But Brandon’s intrigued. He wants to meet the woman who’s tied Eric up in knots. With luck, maybe she’ll relight the spark between them.

Alexa may have lost her chance with Eric, but the consolation prize—a fling with him and Brandon, is too tempting to resist. She never expected to love both men, or to secretly yearn to belong to the one who commands her body like no other…

Tangled

The girl can’t help herself…until she helps herself to a triple-hot fantasy.

Playing With Fire, Book 2

Always wanting what she can’t have. Scarlett learned this the hard way, and this time is no different. Drake, the one guy she’s hot for, isn’t hot for her. Nope, he’s hot for Trevor, the gorgeous, arrogant actor she works with. Maybe it’s time she let loose and let the right man capture her, for a change.

Trevor wonders why she can’t see that the right man is right under her nose. He’s crushing big time on the quirky, sexually confident Scarlett—a huge turn-on for a guy who’s not your standard looking-for-vanilla-sex kind of guy.

When an argument with Trevor explodes into the hottest sex of her life, Scarlett thinks nothing has ever felt so right—until Drake joins in and kicks it into white-hot gear. Trevor is astounded that she trusts him enough to make her three-way happen for her. But suddenly he’s not so sure he wants to share…

Karen will offer up a $20 gift card to Amazon or B&N, winner's choice.

Karen Erickson
I’ve always loved the written word. From being one of the best readers in my kindergarten class to penning romantic stories that never ended about my favorite band members (Duran Duran!) in high school, I always had a feeling I wanted to write. It just took me a while to seriously pursue it.
With the birth of my third child came a realization – it’s one thing to talk about writing a book, another thing entirely to do it. So I decided to go for it and in 2005 I began my pursuit in writing toward publication. After completing a few clunkers that should never see the light of day, I was published in 2006. I currently write for Samhain Publishing and Carina Press.
On a personal note I’m a native Californian who lives in the foothills below Yosemite with my husband and three children, the dog and way too many cats.
