Thanks to those who visited, and sorry it took so long to announce my winners. The winner of the Obsessed tour, chosen using RANDOM.ORG was commenter#1, Maria. Enjoy your prize, and come visit again.

Today, I welcome Lisa Sanchez, author of the book Obsessed. Lisa is offering on lucky commenter on the tour a $20 Amazon GC, and I'm adding a prize for one commenter here at My Odd Little World.

The Writer

What is the best thing about being a writer? The worst?

LS. My favorite thing about writing is seeing my characters come to life on the page. I’ve got so many story ideas floating around in my head, and it’s so fulfilling to see them come together in book form! As far as the worst thing about writing…well, I’m not the world’s most patient person. The road to publication has definitely taught me how to wait, lol!

What fuels you as an author to continue to write?

LS. Writing is my passion, it’s what I do to relax and wind down from my busy home life. I love being creative, and I love sharing my stories with other people. As long as my muse keeps speaking to me, and people keep reading my stuff, I’ll keep writing!
Was there someone instrumental in inspiring you as a writer?
LS. I draw inspiration from lots of things. As far as there being one person who fueled my desire to write, there really wasn’t any one person. I’ve always enjoyed writing creatively.

Where do you research your books? What kind of research do you do?

LS. The majority of my research is done online. I’m an Internet junkie, and have been lucky, so far, in finding everything I need on the web. I’m also married to a cop, so I’m able to pick his brain when it comes to things relating to law enforcement.

Plotter or Pantser? Why?

LS.I’m a Pantser for sure. When I start a story I generally know who my characters are and a few key points in the story (black moment etc.) Aside from those few details, I’m always just as surprised as the reader is by what happens.

The Person

When you get a chance to read, what books do you love to read?

LS. I’m a huge fan of J.R. Ward, and read her stuff whenever I have a free chance. Butch is my absolute fav! I’ve been trying to read a mix of books lately (not just paranormal) and have really enjoyed Bad Behavior by Jennifer Lane, Taking Chase by Lauren Dane, and Hearts In Darkness by Laura Kaye. Good stuff!

What bores you as a reader?

LS. Gratuitous sex with no plot or romance to back it up, weak heroines with no spine and dry dialog. I’m a huge fan of snappy dialog and if it doesn’t flow well, I struggle.

Do you have a secret talent?

LS. Um…I can roll my tongue?

What is your favorite time of day?

LS. Mornings are my favorite for sure.

What do you think is romantic? What does the word Romance mean to you?

LS. Great question! Long stares laced with a soft smile, a soft brush of the knuckles along the side of the face, holding hands while you walk with your significant other…those things are all romantic in my book. To me, romance is a journey, and not one just meant for new couples. It’s the special dance lovers engage in throughout their journey together that leaves you breathless and covered in goosebumps. It’s the art and expression of love, and in my opinion it’s wonderful and completely necessary at all times!

Random Questions

Aliens have landed on the planet. What are the three things you would tell them that are great about this planet?

LS. Hahahah! Love it! I’d definitely go with chocolate, Diet Coke and a nice day spent at the beach.
You’ve been given the honor of naming a planet, what would you name it? LS. Hmm…I think I’d go with Serenia, a play off the word “serenity.” Hopefully a peaceful name would inspire a peaceful planet.

If you were in a rock band what would the name of your band be? What would your rocker name be?

LS. Awww man…I don’t know. The Faux Shmoes? I make an awful noise, so I’d have to fake it, lol! My name would definitely have to be She Who Cannot Sing J

If you could write in any other genre what would it be, and why?

LS. I’ve been told more than once I have a good YA voice. I’ve got a story floating around in my head I definitely plan on writing. We’ll see J

Where can we find out more about you and your work?

LS. You can find me at my blog, http://www.calicheermom.com/ or at my website http://www.lisasanchezromanceauthor.com/

And finally, have you got a sneak peek excerpt from your current work in progress you can share with my readers and me?

LS. Sure thing! The following is a snippet from book three in my Hanaford Park series. Please keep in mind this is unedited, lol.

Whoever came up with the saying “time heals all wounds” was both an asshole and an idiot. Same went for the prick who first said “time flies when you’re having fun.” Time was my enemy. Always had been and probably always would be. When I needed it, there was never enough. And when I begged for it to end, it dragged on for an eternity.
Time eluded me, tricked me, messed with my head. I’d spent 300 years with nothing but idle time on my hands, cursing my existence and pissing away each day. I had no purpose, no reason for being. And in my utter uselessness, I had all the time in the world. Then, by some strange twist in the Fate’s master plan, the light I’d lost so very long ago, swept back into my life like a raging torrent. Feelings, long dormant, reappeared, acting like kindling, igniting the fire within me, melting away the numbness that clung to me like second skin. Taylor, my other half, had returned only to be ripped from my arms once more and hurtled backwards through time.
The laws of physics, the rules that applied to the time/space continuum, that shit didn’t apply to me. I had power. A lot of it. Yet, with all my power, even with my ability to travel through time, I couldn’t slow it down, speed it up, or manipulate it when I needed to the most.
Time was a bitch, just like the Fates. But it was a bitch my weary ass wouldn’t have to put up with much longer. I had one final move, one grand fucking finale to exact before my time was up. Then…then maybe I could get some peace.

The victim of both a brutal attempted rape and now a serial stalking, Halley Davis is broken, and desperate to glue the shattered pieces of her life back together. Tormented by a psychopath and battling a heavy dose of anxiety, sex and dating are the last things on Halley’s anxiety-ridden mind. That is, until she meets the man who rescued her from the hands of a would-be rapist. With a body made for sin, a wicked, sexy tattoo and an aura that screams “badass,” her rescuer not only calms the storm of terror raging inside her mind, he ignites a passion within her she’s never known before.

Tired of using meaningless sex to drown out the horrors of his past, Nick Ackart has sworn off women. In fact, if women were classified as meat, his ass is Vegan. Despite his determination to remain unattached, Nick is unable to stay away from the emerald-eyed beauty he rescued from a sadistic pervert. Immersed in a tangled web of sexual desire and deep emotion he was certain was long dead, he vows to protect Halley from the monster hounding her, even though he stands to lose his heart in the process.

Excerpt from Obsessed

“So, an Italian bakery in the heart of Little Italy, eh? Real original.”
Damon’s deep voice bounced off the empty walls of the shop, making Halley jump.
A twinge of something that felt an awful lot like worry tore through his gut the moment she reacted. Those slender arms and tiny hands of hers trembled as she clutched her bandaged neck, and her frightened eyes spoke volumes. She was more than skittish from the attack. She was downright scared, and it tore at his insides.
The pixie brushed past Damon with a haughty glare and stood in front of Halley. “You okay?” When Halley gave her a nod, she turned and spoke through clenched teeth. “Let’s all try and use our indoor voices from now on, shall we?” She glared up at Damon with a serious look of “keep it down or ima beat you.”
Damon crossed his arms and puffed out his chest as he met the pixie’s glare with a scowl of his own. His excessive display of posturing was pure crap. Nick would put money on the pixie any day and twice on Sunday. Girlfriend could take all two hundred fifty pounds of him easy.
“Enough, Damon.” David stepped forward, placing himself between the guerilla warriors who continued throwing angry eye darts at one another. “Why don’t we introduce ourselves and get down to business? I’m sure the ladies have better things to do today than be mean-mugged by an idiot Greek and his bald companion.”
Nick did a double take and feigned innocence. “Hold up. How’d I get included in his crap? And what’s wrong with my hair?”
The soft sound of an angel laughing filled Nick’s ears, tearing his attention from the idiot Greek and his boss.
A nervous smile crossed Princess’s mouth but didn’t reach those emerald orbs of hers. As amusing as it must have been to watch the three men bicker back and forth like Larry, Curly, and Moe, he knew deep down she was still rattled by Damon’s abrupt entrance. Baby girl did a bang-up job at hiding her discomfort. Not only did she sound like an angel, she looked like one too -- ethereal, beautiful, and almost like a dream.
