Why am I doing this? she asked herself when she climbed into the cab, the next evening. Having dinner with him certainly isn’t going to help me get him out of my dreams.

As she got out, in front of O’Reilly’s, she was startled by her own reflection, and silently thanked Cat for assembling her outfit of dark skinny jeans, pink chiffon top with spaghetti straps and strappy silver sandals.  At Cat’s insistence, she had worn her hair long and loose, and she had added her favorite dangling silver earrings and a matching chain and pendant just before she walked out the door. If clothing was armor, she was as well equipped as she could manage for the coming conversation.

She found Will at the crowded bar, where he kissed her on the cheek and gave her his seat.

“What are you drinking?” he asked.

“I’ll have whatever you’re having.”

He ordered two martinis, and they began talking about the Hanson House. From there, the conversation turned naturally to their jobs. As Sara had expected, Will explained that he traveled all over the world and spent only a few weeks out of the year at his apartment in Santa Monica.

While he spoke, she stared at his mouth, remembering how his kisses felt on her lips. A glance at his hands awoke her memory of the way they had encircled her waist as she made love to him.

Stop it, she ordered herself sternly, and shook her head.

“Are you okay?”

Oh shit. I didn’t say that out loud, did I? “Y-yeah, I’m fine,” she answered with a laugh.

“Now that we’ve made a dent in these martinis,” he said, looking down at his glass, “I have to tell you… You broke my heart, that last night. I really loved you, Sara.”

“And you don’t think I felt the same way? Will, I made a clean break between us for you, as much as me. It never would have worked out, given our situations. You were traveling the world on the fast track to success, and I had a challenging course schedule. Look at us now, with everything we wished for. Our hard work paid off.”

Will’s gaze sharpened. “Have you ever regretted it? You know, not giving us a chance?”

Sara paused and looked into his eyes. Every day. That was what she wanted to answer, but instead she said, “I think our table is ready. Come on. Let’s go sit down.”

Sandra Bunino began a love of romance stories while penning a creative writing assignment in high school. The story ended with the heroine receiving a long stem red rose in her locker on Valentine’s Day. Since then, all of her stories feature the hero presenting the heroine with roses. Sweet, Sexy, Scorching Giveaway Hop

There has been a lot of hype in the media lately regarding "mommy porn" books and the use of ereaders to hide what we're reading. While we love our ereaders something fierce, it doesn't mean we're ashamed of what we're reading. In fact, we love erotic romance books and want to share it!

People often assume that by reading erotic romance books you're only reading sex- but it's not true. There is a great story waiting to be told and so what if there's a little hot sexin' going on? It's just like any other romance novel except with a little more heat and that makes it so much better! Sadly, the media portrays it as "offensive and abusive" to woman. Well, let's show them they're wrong!

So that is what this hop is all about. Starting on Monday, we will be kicking off this Sweet, Sexy, Scorching Giveaway Hop. We will be doing a month long giveaway hop with erotic romance authors showing you that there is more to the story than hot sex. It's similar to the game of  'Guess Who'. Each day will be dedicated to one author with lines, excerpts, blurbs or snippets from their books. The readers will then have to guess who the character is with a 'Who Am I' post and leave a comment on who they think it is. After reading that book, I knew Serenity was going to be one of my 'I gotta get this book' authors, and I was right. Everything I've read of hers has been a delight-hot, sexy and filled with humor, passion and sex hot enough to melt the wallpaper off. But first, business.

Seven Sexy Sins is a mix of two of my favorite types of romance - friends to lovers and the crush realized. There is such fun in each and every one of the characters, from Faith and Rusty, to her overprotective big brother and the close-knit group that they form. These are all very real people, folks you want to know better. I like this world, and hope to see more of these fun loving folks from 'down under'

Faith Hillman writes a women's column, and thinks she may have bitten off a bit more than she should have with this new assignment. She has to write a bit about the Seven Sexy Sins that women want but don't always get. She bases her sins on the seven deadly sins, and the only problem with all of this, is she has never experienced any of them. After discussing the assignment with her circle of friends and family, she feels even more depressed.

Rusty Thorne is, as Faith says, 'sex on legs' - tall, tan and georgeous, a real love 'em and leave 'em guy. Because of family issues, he feels he will never be able to settle down, so he becomes a no commitment man. But when Faith mentions getting the experience of each of her sexy sins, Rusty is determined that he will be the one to 'research' with Faith. All he has to do is convince her.

I loved this, watching these two as they tried to keep this on a strictly business footing. Faith is determined to keep her heart from becoming involved, even though she has been just a bit in love with Rusty for years. I loved her idea of a contract, one with a finite end of just seven encounters, and total anonymity  for the man helping her with the sins. And Rusty, with his belief that, because his male relatives are all jerks, it must be inherited, and sooner or later he will become just like them. It is the reason he doesn't dring, and refuses to commit. So why does he want more with Faith than he ever has?

The heat level in this continues to rise, and each experience is sexier than the one before. I loved that, as Faith and Rusty, or Beau, continue, neither realizes that this is leading them right where neither planned to go - to love and forver and so much more than just seven nights of passion and exploration.

When 'Beau's' identity becomes known, and he voices his doubts about his worth, I really enjoyed watching as the gang showed him how wrong he was in their own unique way. Am I going to tell you allabout each of the Seven Sexy Sins? Nope - that would spoil the fun in reading this fun and engaging book. I will say this though - I'll never look at a candy bar in quite the same way again. Seven Sexy Sins is one of those books I'll go back to when I want a great, hot story to make me laugh, cry and sigh.

   

Heat your Nights with Blind Heat

I want to welcome Nara Malone to My Odd Little World. I got a chance to read her second book in her Pantherian Passions from Ellora's Cave, and I will post my review following Nara's bio and book blurb and excerpt. I will say it was an intriguing story, and I can't wait to read more in this world.

She swallowed. The sensation in her head rose to a humming, nudging her to go to him, to lose herself in that bold stare. She put her fingertips to the spot again, wondering if she might be having some sort of breakdown. His eyes sparked with pleasure at the reaction, but his tone was serious when he spoke.

“You have two choices, sweetheart, you can turn around and run back the way you came and I won’t try to stop you. Or you can come to me, reach for the mystery, have what you are aching for.”

If he had struck a match to her, he couldn’t have lit her any faster.

“But if you come to me, I’m not going to stop at a kiss. I’m not going to stop at all until it pleases me.”

This was not a morning to face down temptation. If only he felt like a stranger, then she might have a chance, but he felt so familiar, like coming home. Common sense told her to run. Security lay in the other direction, returning to flatline dull days lining up one after the other. What price would she pay to feel alive, live dangerously for a few minutes? There was no one here to take him from her. No one to stop her from exploring the forbidden, not this time. One taste and she’d drop back into her role as a polite, conservative wallflower. It was a dangerous choice. All the more reason.

Whew!!! I do believe the temperature in here just rose about fifty degrees. And this isn't even the hottest bit in the book!

Blind Heat is one of those books that draws you into the story from the beginning, and grabs you by the throat, daring you to put it down. The characters, Marcus and Allie, are crafted with care and depth, and I look forward to more in this unique world Ms. Malone has crafted so well.

As I read this, I was fascinated by all the information provided about Allie's condition-face blindness-and was surprised to find that Ms. Malone shares this with her heroine. I like Allie, with her determination to be as normal as possible, even as she has blocked out her early beginnings. She believes she is 'simply human' but nothing could be further from the truth, and I enjoyed watching as Marcus was able to bring her out of her self imposed isolation and help her learn to live a full and active life.

I really love Marcus, even if he is holding all kinds of secrets from his people. What's not to love? Handsome, sexy hot as sin and he cares, really cares, about the world around him and how it impacts the Pantherian people. More than that, he works diligently to stop the experimentation being done in labs, the creation of Parahumans-animals implanted with human intelligence. I like shifter stories, but this one is exceptional in its intensity, its humanity and it is one very hot and passionate story, with danger, romance and mystery around every corner. I went through the whole book waiting for answers to my questions. Will Marcus be able to save the animals without being caught? Will Allie let Marcus in to her life? What, exactly, is Allie, really? And can Marcus and Allie make a life together, against the odds?

Nope, not going to spoil this with answers to these and many other fascinating threads throughout this marvelous tale. If you want to know more, pick up a copy of Blind Heat, and lose yourself in Nara Malone's world of the Pantherians.  But have ice water on hand, and keep the air conditioner on high, because it is a hot and steamy ride.
